EXERTUS

RELIABLE PERFORMANCE WHEN IT MATTERS

Forsa Exertus

Every Exertus line blade, GRF and CR, is developed with the intent of providing efficient and reliable performance as a coastal rowing tool. The unique Forsa big blade enables superb performance. It is a highly efficient, durable and maintenance free oar. Fitted with an ultra-rugged aluminum alloy shaft, assures it will withstand rough handling and even the hardest conditions. The Exertus has a fixed (nonadjustable) handle fitted with the Forsa 38.5mm OD optimum grip, suitable for larger hands. The Forsa big blade design conveys a unique feeling of balance due to the blade and handle-shaft being comparable in weight. This balance transfers into a natural feel and steady control making Exertus highly effective without extra arm fatigue during extended periods of rowing in choppy conditions.

Simply, Exertus is in a class by itself. The sleek elegant look and clean lines, the combination of useful features and their reliable performance meet the high standards and grueling demand of today’s coastal rower. Utilizing state of the art CNC production machinery along with coastal rowing experience, Forsa oars have established a benchmark for extraordinary value without sacrificing performance. They have been extensively tested to ensure that they are ready to withstand all coastal rowing conditions. Forsa Oars are your performance guarantee.

THE BLADE DESIGN

The Exertus Blade design is inspired by the Smoothie Big Blade design with a thinner more slender shape to reduce windage for coastal rowing conditions. Unique trademark horizontal grooves provide a framework which increases rigidity, structural strength and adds stiffness without adding weight. In addition, having no center ridge and a flatter less concaved body prevents the normally eddying turbulent motion boundary layer, decreasing it to laminate flow. This prevents stalling and lessens drag at the end of your stroke to improve handling in rough water. These characteristics make the Exertus blade competitive, setting it above other traditional big blade designs for coastal rowing conditions.

CONSTRUCTION DETAILS

The blade is attached to the shaft using a unique revolutionary left hand and right hand conical thread. The right hand thread is for the starboard bigblade, the left hand thread is for the port bigblade. This method combined with an adhesive for perfect fit prevents endplay. The addition of an extra long (20cm) throat and thread surface creates a more rigid bond. The uniquely developed seal prevents water, salt and sand from entering the throat and threaded area. It also provides protection against abrasion for reliable maintenance free performance. These seals are color coded enabling quick and easy - starboard/port side - oar identification.

THE SHAFT

The shaft is extruded from 6082 aircraft grade aluminum alloy for optimum weight and salt water resistance. This has been heat treated according to T2 specs for optimum stiffness. Topped with a durable environmentally friendly anticorrosion layer of black finish further enhancing resistance to the elements and rugged enough for coastal rowing use in all climate conditions. The handle is extruded from the shaft as a mono-block rather than an attached handle for maximum reliability for rigorous daily use.

Both shaft length and sleeve location can be customized to your specifications.

BLADE MATERIALS & FINISH

The blade is manufactured to FORSA’s own design and tooling using a cost effective CNC injection molding process. They are solidly constructed with a custom engineered high-performance glass-fiber or carbon reinforced thermoplastic blend. Both of these will withstand salt water and UV rays as well as being shock and abrasion resistant. A sand blasted finish improves traction and grip in rough water.

The standard color is black. Customized solid colors are available on volume orders at an additional cost. A color chart is available upon request.
